The Ghost in the Shell. This title floods me with nostalgia. It was through this masterpiece that I first
became involved in a theatrical anime feature. Atsuko Tanaka was there. Iemasa Kayumi-san was there. They
have all departed for the spirit world now, yet perhaps because I was at the absolute peak of nervous tension
back then, I remember those days as if they were yesterday. To be intertwined with this world once again
fills me with immense pride. And this time, as I came face-to-face with this uncool-yet-cool old man named
Aramaki, though we could not record our lines together, the moment I was enveloped by the calm, grounded voice
of Maaya Sakamoto, who had recorded her parts before me, I felt an unspeakable, indescribable happiness. This
work is, truly, utterly irresistible.
