To think that the day would actually come when I could be intertwined with The Ghost in the Shell... I am
deeply, profoundly honored!
Though The Ghost in the Shell has been adapted into animation many times,
I believe that this time, following the original manga closely, you will be able to feel a more pop and comical
side to it as well.
The Operator, affectionately known as Ope-ko, is a ghostless android who
sometimes finds herself in quite terrible situations, but when I received the setting materials, I saw a note
that read: '(Ope-ko) is cute. Please draw her while constantly thinking: make her as cute as possible.' On top
of that, the word 'cute' was written on every single one of her expression sheets, and I could truly feel the
immense love behind it (laughs).
Since Ope-ko is a presence that gently watches over Section 9, I,
too, alongside all of the viewers, want to watch over the broadcast of this series—a work tightly packed with
the heart and soul of the entire staff and cast!
